How Bay Area sportswriters voted for the Baseball Hall of Fame

baseball_hall_fame1By now you’ve likely heard that no player was voted for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame off the writers’ ballot for the first time in 17 years. The prime players snubbed were Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, both of whom were making their first appearances on the ballot.

569 ballots were cast in Wednesday’s nonsensical empty vote, which only makes the result that much more absurd. The New York Times highlighted this fiasco with a well-played front page of its sports section on Thursday.

For those who are looking to further digest the results (perhaps on a really busy day moving into a new place), the BBWAA’s website is sharing the ballot of any writer who chooses to share theirs. The list is currently at 123 (and counting).

In case you were interested, we’ve taken all the voters part the Bay Area media from that list and shared their results here. The main takeaway here if that local voters were generally forgiving toward the-cream-and-the-clear aficionado Bonds

So, if you’re looking for somebody to blame for Bonds not receiving induction, first of all, chillax; second, you can’t knock many voters from the Bay:
