Delanie Walker’s aunt, uncle killed by alleged drunk driver after Super Bowl

49ers tight end confirmed on Instagram on Wednesday that both his aunt and uncle were killed by a suspected drunk driver early Monday morning in Louisiana after watching him in the Super Bowl.

Walker shared pictures of himself with Alice and Bryan Young in New Orleans with the following messages:

Alice and bryan young my aunt and uncle was killed on Monday at 5 am after the super bowl by a drunk driver… We lost some good people they will be missed i love y’all so much..

Im going to miss y’all but i know they are in a better place..

According to The Times-Picayune, the Youngs were pulled over on the side of Interstate 10 outside of New Orleans at 5:30 Monday morning on their way back to their hotel in Baton Rouge when a 2002 Mercedes C230 plowed into their 2012 Nissan Altima “at a high rate of speed.”

The driver, 26-year-old Nechole Thomas, was reportedly arrested on two counts of vehicular homicide, DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Both cars became engulfed in flames after the collision. Thomas reportedly was able to escape with only minor injuries. But after the blaze was extinguished, the report says, both Youngs were found in their vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies are reportedly pending.
