The Giants on Wednesday agreed to a two-year contract with closer/photobomber Sergio Romo, avoiding arbitration.
Romo was the final arbitration-eligible Giants player the team had to to agree on a new deal with.
While details of salary aren’t clear, Andrew Baggarly reports…
it’s expected Romo and the club settled in between the club’s $2.675 salary filing and the right-hander’s $4.5 million asking price, with a higher salary for 2014.
In 2012, Romo had a 1.79 ERA and 0.849 WHIP. His emergence while taking over closing duties from the injured Brian Wilson has made Wilson expendable for the Giants.
