Brent Burns out for at least Sharks’ next 2 games

Everybody’s favorite (former) mountain man hockey player Brent Burns will reportedly be out for the Sharks’ next two games after injuring himself in Saturday’s loss to the Stars.

Todd McLellan announced the news after practice on Monday. According to CSN’s Kevin Kurz, Burns suffered an “apparently leg injury” in Saturday’s contest. The Sharks have been notoriously tight-lipped about the extent of injuries, so don’t be surprised if you get more injury details from an Operation game board.

The Sharks play the Avalanche and the Red Wings on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, at the Shark Tank. On Saturday they welcome the Predators.

San Jose is coming off a 1-4-1 road trip and is 1-6-3 in February after starting the abbreviated season 7-0 (sorry for the unpleasant reminder). Ryane Clowe will already be missing for the Avs game after being suspended by the league. Good times right now for the Sharks.
