Linebacker/special teamer Dan Skuta has agreed to a two-year deal with the 49ers. The team announced the signing late on Thursday.
Skuta will serve mainly in a special teams role but is also expected to be a backup interior linebacker to Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. Skuta had 17 special teams tackles with the Bengals last season, tops on the team. Lest we forget Jacoby Jones’ kickoff return touchdown was more or less the difference in the Super Bowl, more importantly helping pave the way for him to earn a spot on “Dancing with the Stars.”
#49ers Trent Baalke on Dan Skuta: “He is an established special teams player and versatile linebacker who fits our system very well.”

Skuta was one of three free agents on official visits with the 49ers, along with Nnamdi Asomugha and former Lions safety Louis Delmas. Official visits? It sounds like I’m talking about a college team.
