A’s finalize opening day roster

After closing out the spring with a 4-3 win over the Giants, the A’s made their final cuts to arrive at their 25-man opening day roster.

Among the roster moves made on Saturday, the A’s placed shortstop Hiro Nakajima on the 15-day DL retroactive to March 27, which had been expected. The team also sent reliever Pedro Figueroa and infielder Andy Parrino to Triple-A and reassigned non-roster invitees relievers Mike Ekstrom and Hideki Okajima and catcher Luke Montz to the minors.
