Donte Whitner throws shade at Nnamdi Asomugha on Twitter, says account was hacked (Update)

The 49ers officially signed Nnamdi Asomugha on Wednesday to help out their secondary. I’m sure he’s going to be a welcome addition in the locker room.


Uh oh. Let’s hope 49ers safety Donte Whitner isn’t in charge of planning Asomugha’s welcome party to San Francisco.

We’re not sure why Whitner would have beef with Asomugha. It was definitely an odd tweet because earlier in the day Whitner praised the signing.

The tweet was deleted soon after. Whitner said that he had been hacked. Because of course.

We’ve lost count of all the times professional athletes have used the “my account got hacked” defense whenever their handle sends out a questionable tweet. It’s a convenient excuse that’s always met with skepticism from observers, but that doesn’t mean it’s never what actually happened.
