Vance McDonald was only drafted by the 49ers less than two months ago, but the tight end is already putting the Bay Area’s picturesque land marks to use.
He recently proposed to his girlfriend, Kendi Davis, on the Golden Gate Bridge. Kind of a trite place to do that sort of thing. But all that matters here is LOVE.
“I was like, ‘What better spot than the bridge?’ ” McDonald recalled after practice this week. [...]
Shortly after flying back from the NFL Players Association’s Rookie Premiere in Southern California, McDonald decided it was time to get engaged.
“We got out to the bridge at 8 (p.m.) and it was so cold,” McDonald said. “She was bundled up and I was just in shorts and a T-shirt.
“We started on the north side at Vista Point. I wanted to go to the middle of the bridge, but it was getting dark and really cold. We made it to the first tower, and I gave my phone to girls that were behind us for a picture.”
The proposal was made. A sparkling ring found Davis’ finger. Photos were taken. McDonald’s first “catch” was made.
What a hopeless romantic.
