Multiple reports are saying the Sharks have agreed on a contract extension with forward Logan Couture:

Was there an easier decision for the Sharks this offseason? Couture, 24, has one year left on his current contract (worth $2.875 million), has already emerged as the Sharks’ best player and is the foundation for the franchise’s future. Easy no-brainer.
The deal can’t become official until July 5, when free agency begins and Couture’s final year kicks in. Terms aren’t known at this time, and you could probably expect the Sharks to hold off on making any official announcement until July 5. Kurz speculates the five years will be added onto his current deal, which would keep him in teal until the 2018-2019 season.
Via Fear the Fin, here are some salary figures of other players that could be similar to what Couture will see:
Some possible contract comparables include Tyler Seguin’s 6-year, $34.5 million deal with the Bruins, Jamie Benn’s 5-year, $26.25 million deal with the Stars, Jeff Skinner’s 6-year, $34.4 million deal with the Hurricanes and Jordan Eberle’s 6-year, $36 million deal with the Oilers. Ultimately, it’s likely to be either a 5- or 6-year contract that carries a cap hit in the $5.5 to $6 million range.
In the meantime, all we can do is speculate on just how many millions of dollars five Y’s equates to:
