The Warriors signed guard Nemanja Nedovic, who was selected with the 30th overall pick in the first round, the team announced Tuesday after reaching a buyout agreement with Lietuvos Rytas of the Lithuanian A League.
The Warriors acquired Nedovic’s draft rights from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the draft rights to the 29th pick and guard Malcolm Lee, both of whom Golden State had acquired earlier in the draft. Nedovic is currently with the Warriors’ summer-league squad in Las Vegas and is expected to play in the team’s game on Saturday before returning to Serbia to fulfill commitments with his national team. The Warriors anticipate that Nedovic will join the team at training camp, which is scheduled to begin on September 29.
Nedovic, 22, has played professionally in Europe for four seasons, most recently with Lietuvos Rytas, where he posted averages of 11.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 18 games. In 10 Euroleague contests, he averaged 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
