Adam Rosales claimed off waivers by Rangers

The corresponding roster move after the A’s acquired Alberto Callaspo on Tuesday was DFA’ing Adam Rosales. On Friday he was picked up by the division rival Rangers, who are trailing the A’s by just 3.5 games entering Friday.

HOW DARE HE get DFA’ed by the A’s, have no control in where he lands and shack up with the bad guys. WHAT A HUGE JERK, right Giants fans?

We’ll miss Rosales sprinting to first on a walk or around the bases on a home run. We won’t miss all the other times his plate appearances resulted in our swearing and throwing objects across the room.

Rosales is hitting a dreadful .193/.268/.319 this season and simply was the odd man out when the A’s needed to clear a spot on the roster. The A’s surely would have liked to keep him and infield versatility in the organization, but they were forced to risk him on the waiver wire. He doesn’t have any minor league options, hence why the Billy Beane needed to DFA him before sending him to Triple-A. It worked last month when they DFA’ed him in favor of Grant Green. This time they weren’t so lucky.

Rosales will already be in uniform Friday night because, oh, hey, the Rangers and A’s are kicking off a series at the Coliseum. Get ready for fate to be a sick bastard on the A’s with Rosales hitting a game-winning homer or doing something really important for the Rangers this weekend.
