Well, this was inevitable.
Following an early exit in last weekend’s loss to Washington with a hamstring strain, Darren McFadden is not expected to play in this Sunday’s late-night affair with the Chargers. He’s been listed as doubtful, just like the chances he’ll ever play a full healthy season in his career. From BANG:
Only on rare occasions does player listed as doubtful on Friday end up playing on Sunday, which also means center Stefen Wisniewski, who has the same designation, could end up a spectator when the Raiders host the San Diego Chargers Sunday night.
“I can’t even describe it or put it into words,” McFadden said when asked about his level of frustration with being injured again. “I just try to keep my head up, keep pushing forward an remain positive.”
McFadden also said it’s entirely possible he could also be sitting out next week’s game against the Chiefs, too. A merciful bye week follows that game, meaning that McFadden can have three weeks to get right.
“Hamstrings are one of those things you want to be careful with,” McFadden said. “I’d rather miss one or two games than to come back and pop it and miss four or five.”
So, yeah, this is happening, Raiders fans. You knew it was coming, too. Which makes it all the more painful.
