In case you missed it, here’s the Sharks’ gripping, eight-round shootout against the Kings Wednesday night. For a while it felt as if this was never going to end. And then, it was, of all people, Jumbo Joe Thornton, who last participated in a shootout in 2009 and last scored in one in 2007, barely slipping the puck past Kings netminder Ben Scrivens for the deciding goal.
Other things to look for: Joe Pavelski obliterating Scrivens’ ankles, Tomas Hertl continuing to be awesome and Antti Niemi nearly keeping Justin Williams’ attempt out of the net on a second attempt.
The home team has now won the previous 14 games in this series.
