Reggie McKenzie had his year-end chat with local reporters today. Among the topics examined were the coaching staff, Johnny Manziel and the direction of the franchise. Jerry McDonald has a pretty good write-up of the sit-down.
Also discussed in the roundtable meeting was a pretty relevant subject for the Raiders right now moving forward—free agency. Some of the notable players the Raiders have hitting the free agent market this offseason include safety Charles Woodson, left tackle Jared Veldheer, defensive end Lamarr Houston, cornerback Mike Jenkins, cornerback Tracy Porter, running back Rashad Jennings and perpetual injury list-er Darren McFadden.
Of course, the Raiders for once have more cap space this year than since probably Bill Clinton was in office. They could probably make a run at all those guys if they could do it practically. But during the media chat McKenzie tipped his hand as to what he intends to do with those names once free agency begins:
#Raiders GM McKenzie also says he wants to re-sign Jennings, Veldheer, Houston and Woodson. Thinks McFadden will test the FA market

You can read into that however you like, but to us it sounds like he’s totally chill with Darren McFadden testing the free agent waters and then not throwing him a life preserver. Easiest decision he’s had to make since being hired for the job.
